RepairSurge another big scam website.

4 min read

Let check this statement, step by step.

First, as with other scam websites, the company name, registration details, phone number, and contact page are missing. They get a lot of BBB complaints, and we eventually found their company. It is registered in Michigan, with REGISTERED AGENTS INC as the entity to handle. It is well known that fishy companies hide behind ghost companies, and they do so for a good reason. You cannot know who is really behind, where they are, or who the owner is.

Next, the way they are scamming customers. They invented software to install on your desktop, and later on your phone, to read your manual, which you order, based on a subscription that will be RENEWED every year. If you forgot to cancel it, they will automatically charge you next year.

The next thing to say is they are collecting a lot of free information from the internet, which you can find for free anyway, and putting it together in their software, and calling that BS the factory repair manual.

Or should I say "Information based on factory service and repair materials" ?

We think that the factory materials are far from the actual factory repair manual for a specific car. And actually, that is the truth.

To prove this, we select a few reviews they get from customers:

""A parts list is not a manual.

The site does nothing but lie and mislead you to purchase a manual. What they sell you is nothing more than a parts list and an exploded view of some of the areas of the car. There are no instructions for removal, testing, or installation of parts. There are no torque specifications listed. "

"Contact customer support and they email you saying they will respond within 24 hours that is also a lie. The site is nothing more than a scam and should be shut down."

And another one:

"Stay away!!!

Actually put real manuals on your website. What is on this website is not manuals. When you click on "Brakes" and click on Drum brake R&R, it gives you a single paragraph talking about asbestos. Then 5 bullet points with a single sentence in each one explaining how to keep the work area clean. Stay away!!!!"

And another one:

No useful information proveded

The information provided is extremely limited. No actual repair procedures are given. No step by step description as would be found in a real repair manual. This service is a waste of money and basically useless."

They also refuse constantly to refund people who are asking for money back.. Check this:

Total Ripoff don't buy a manual here

Well it was advertised as a maintenance Manual and there is hardly any content in fact it is less technical than the owners Manual i asked for a refund and they said no this is a total ripoff and customer support is horrible

Got your reply and I was NOT offered a refund at the time they said they didn't have enough information whatever that means and YES please issue a refund ASAP."

And the last one:

Garbage

Garbage. They should be brought down for real. My experience the same as all those below. People work hard for the money. And you lazy con artist putting up fake information scamming people out of their money. Just know somebody in trouble with Jesus.

Customers seem to describe the exact same issues. How are they still promoting and selling their BS? Easy, they are using ads, and after customers buy their subscription, most of them are thinking that they actually get the factory repair manual, which is not the truth! But people who never see the factory repair manual should looking it as okay. For real DIYers and Pros, it's clear that RepairSurge is a big SCAM.

The reviews we mention are taken from Trustpilot. But, they as a company do not collect reviews. It will probably be a disaster; even on Trustpilot, they just keep the score at 4.

You can read all of those here:

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/repairsurge.com?page=3&stars=1

Another suspicious thing is that they collected past reviews with ShopperApproved back in 2013, when they could choose to send the review form to whoever they wanted. When the process became automatic, they did not. Probably they expect a disaster.

So, from their selling page:

"Everything you need for a successful repair.

  1. Service and Repair Procedures- totally missing or incomplete. Read the reviews.
  2. Parts Numbers and Illustrations- sometimes, you never know.
  3. Fluids and Lubricants- that is correct, because you can find this anyway on Google for free.
  4. Technical Service Bulletins- maybe, if they are public on Google.
  5. Maintenance Schedules- correct, it is also free on Google.
  6. Safety Precautions- free on Google
  7. Specifications- Free on Google
  8. Component Locations- sometimes yes, sometimes no.
  9. Wiring Diagrams- Maybe, sometime.
  10. Vehicle and Equipment Recalls- Yes, if they are public on Google
  11. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting- This is 100% incorrect; all reviewers are saying the same.
  12. Fast, Friendly Support- This is the biggest BS. They even delete the phone number from the website."

We think it is very clear now what these guys are selling. Our advice? Stay away from RepairSurge.com if you need the real factory repair manual. Better ask Google or AI to help you with that free information.

If you really want a real repair manual based on a subscription, for 19.99 USD yearly, much less than this SCAM, you can find that on AllData.

This SCAM website, repairsurge.com, uses the tactic known as clickbait. They catch you if you are not reading about them.

We invite all these SCAM websites to respond to this article in the comments. We will publish anything they write. They have the right to defend themselves.
